Welcome to the blog!

This is basically a place for me to post updates on stuff I'm working on, share WIPs that I post to my other socials as well, and also let people know what's happening in my life that might be causing me to have not posted for months at a time! So keep an eye out here and you might find something fun and neat!

So, about this blog itself. I don't trust social medias in the slightest with the direction things have been heading. Even back in 2023 I'd noted how bad it was getting and sure has only gotten worse lmao, so this is at least a good way to keep up with my stuff y'know? That being said this is basically going to be a periodically updated blog featuring information about stuff I've been working on, what's been going on in my life and I'm going to hopefully be updating this more now that I have the brainpower to do so.

This will likely not feature weekly or daily updates unless something of post-worthy note happens that warrants it, but I'm hoping for monthly, or every 2 months to have an update. The problem is I do not remember to do events and stuff or even THINGS (gasp) unless i have a reminder or alarm set that tells me to do it in that moment, so bare with me lol. The other thing too is that BEING ONLINE 24/7 IS SUPER BAD FOR YOUR BRAIN so consider taking care and lessening your time online, you'll feel a lot better than you think, just check on stuff once in a while instead.

YOU'RE NOT GONNA BELIEVE THIS.

I didn't just forget to update the blog, I straight up actively chose not to because the old one was SO FUCKING CLUNKY IT SUCKED.

THE MEAT:

Okay, let's get into it. What the FUCK HAS HAPPENED IN THREE YEARS?

  • I have started HRT (yay)
  • I have also gotten medicated for my ADHD. (thank fuck)
  • I have completely reworked some old projects and revised them
  • I have gotten a better position at work that im cool with
  • I've gotten back in touch with a good friend of mine
  • I FIXED THE FUCKING WEBSITE MORE. >:(

So basically, actually quite a lot but we're gonna get into the most important thing on this list as my main update... which is re: COMPLETELY REWORKING OLD PROJECTS. So at the time of writing this, I realized some very important things that made me change my trajectory with regards to my personal project "Undertow".

So to start, I tried Undertow as a written work! This did not work out because getting people to read is impossible and I was struggling to describe things and not get lost. Then, it was a comic! Which was NEVER GOING TO WORK because comics are simply too much for a single person who works 40+hrs a week as I literally do not have time to chip away at something like that since I don't have a team.

So I've opted for the route of RPG since I can do the assets myself and writing/coding super easily, and I have a guy I'll hire later for music so I'm set lmao. I've already made huge progress on base portraits for most of the main cast, I did stop to work on the walking sprites for those characters and once those are done I will do another round. Chip away little by little and it's been going well! I already did some test scripting and the language is something I can understand well so I should be good there... But yeah. It's sure a lot. For now though this is a breif update as I continue work on finishing character pages so! Until then!

RADIO SILENCE

GUESS WHO ONCE AGAIN HAS HAD NO TIME TO DO SHIT. It's me.

THE MEAT:

So basically what happened is life, conventions, and other projects in between. A lot has happened since my last post so it's time to get caught up again. I unfortunately am no longer with my partner due to my own inability to be around as much. Not much you can do about that, it is what it is and that's kinda just how it went. I'm not made for long distance sadly since I vanish from the internet for long periods of time (because the internet is not good for your brain.)

From there, I am working on paying down some expenditures I didn't anticipate having to deal with so I've been mostly focused on working late at my job where possible and such. Kinda cuts into the time I can spend working on stuff. I also am suffering a little bit of burnout. Not much you can really do about that, yknow. Shit happens.

That said, I am still working on stuff I promise! It's just been a bit on the backburner is all.


Good news is that the chapter for Undertow is basically done! I'm just in the grace period before I re-read it once more before I post it as I want to be sure I'm happy with it before I go any further with actually posting it. A lot can change on a reread and I try to space my reads with a week in between so I can basically read it fresh.


Not a huge amount of new art but I do have a couple little things I can post at least!

LIFE UPDATES

Okay, I've been non-existent for a while and wanted to make a post to explain WHY.

THE MEAT:

So basically, it's mostly that I've been really busy with work so as a result I haven't had a lot of time to myself among a lot of appointments as well. On top of this, I am also going to be attending several conventions in the coming months! So if you are going to Calgary Expo, Otafest or Gamescon(Edmonton) then feel free to seek me out and say hi! I'll be in costume as Squall (FFVIII) or as Leshy (Cult of the Lamb).

As well! I have also been working on some writing for the first time in a while! So as a result I will have another Undertow chapter to add soon, though its exact order is unknown as I decided I wanted to do a little section thats a bit further in so I could break up where I was working on things... It features the introduction to Rochmir! I'd also like to be doing the intro to meeting Viktor and Natascha as well in due time.

I have sadly fallen into a bit of an art slump, but I did finish a couple little doodles today of Viktor and Sachi. They're good for the soul y'know.

That said, for now that's all! I'm hoping to be a bit less busy and to have time to work on stuff when all these conventions are done, but we'll see!. Until then, catch y'all around!

NEW BLOG

TIME FOR POST NUMBER ONE. So this is the new blog!!! This is going to act as a journal and news outlet to announce things like new projects, new artworks, and other things going on in my life :D I figured this would be an easier way of doing things from here out as well since crossposting and putting that stuff in kinda sucks and is hard... AND THERES ALSO A FULL COMMENT SYSTEM!!! :D Anyway, let's dive in.
